Welcome to the Principal, Year 7 to Year 12 Students and Teachers
After the great success of HSDC 2015 and 2016, we are pleased to bring you the High School Dance Competition – HSDC 2017.
HSDC is a freestyle dance competition with an aim to encourage students to participate in activities beyond learning. It is a platform to promote teamwork, boost confidence levels and inspire students to connect culturally through the art of dance.
HSDC is a fun and great way to meet new friends and develop essential social skills through interaction with other students. Group choreography fosters teamwork, communication, trust and cooperation. HSDC believes that through this competition students will have an opportunity to develop important life skills, such as discipline, confidence, self-esteem and focus. One of the greatest benefits of dance is that it sparks a student’s imagination and nurtures individual creativity in a unique way.
Bollywood refers to Hindi language film industry, based in Mumbai, India.
Bollywood dance is a combination of various dance forms like Indian Classical, Folk, Hip Hop, Break dance and Latino. It is fun and expressive with intricate hand movements and quick footwork, you can actually express what the music means, through the graceful movements of the body.
HSDC invites students from all high schools in Melbourne and surrounds to take part in this free style dance competition where one can choreograph your dance in any dance style but the base music should be a Bollywood movie song and can be remixed with any other language song/s.
